PARTNERS We are made from dust with the breath of God in us. Genesis 2
4This is the history of the heavens and the earth whenthey were created, in the day that the Lord God made theearth and the heavens, 5before any plant of the field wasin the earth and before any herb of the field had grown. The Lord God had not caused it to rain on the earth, and there was no man to till the ground; 6but a mist went up from the earth and watered the whole face of the ground. 7The Lord God formed man of the dust of the ground, and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life; and manbecame a living being. 8The Lord God planted a garden eastward in Eden, andthere He put the man whom He had formed. 9Out of theground the Lord God made every tree grow that is pleasantto the sight and good for food. The tree of life was in themidst of the garden, and the tree of the knowledge of goodand evil. 10A river went out of Eden to water the gardenand from there it parted and became four riverbeds. 15The Lord God put the man in the garden to tend andkeep it. 16The Lord God commanded the man, saying,"Of every tree of the garden you may freely eat;17but ofthe tree of the knowledge of good and evil you shall noteat, for in the day you eat of it you shall surely die." 18The Lord God said, "It is not good that man shouldbe alone; I will make him a helper comparable to him."19Out of the ground the Lord God formed every beastand every bird, and brought them to Adam to see whathe would call them. Whatever Adam called each livingcreature, that was its name. 20Adam gave names to allcattle, to the birds of the air, and to every beast of thefield. But for Adam there was not found a helper. 21And the Lord God caused a deep sleep to fall on Adam. He took one of his ribs, and closed up theflesh in its place. 22Then the rib which the Lord Godhad taken from man He made into a woman, and broughther to the man. 23Adam said: "This is now bone of my bones and flesh of my flesh; she shall be called Woman because she was taken out of Man." 24Therefore a man shall leave his father and motherand be joined to his wife, and they shall become oneflesh. 25They were both naked, and were not ashamed.
