Week 35 Day 6
The message of the Gospel is that
we need to repent and change
so that the kingdom of heaven
can come into our lives
It is there for the taking for anyone who will receive it
Yet there were and are many people
or will not
Who were the enemies of Jesus?
Who were those who opposed his ministry?
not the masses of people who watched him daily
but the religious leadership of his day!
The religious authorities were so intent
the purity of their
that they could not recognize
and grace of God
They were so blind
that they called good evil
and evil good
They would not have been able to see a sign from God
if it had hit them
in the face
right between their eyes.
AN IMPORTANT QUESTION
Child of God? Child of Satan? Can we always know?
22One was brought to Him who was demon-possessed, blind
and mute; and He healed him. 23All the multitudes were amazed
and said, "Could this be the Son of David?"
24When the Pharisees heard it they said, "This fellow does not
cast out demons except by Beelzebub, the ruler of the demons."
25Jesus knew their thoughts, and said: "Every kingdom divided
against itself is brought to desolation, every city or house divided
against itself will not stand. 26 If Satan casts out Satan, how then
will his kingdom stand? 27And if I cast out demons by Beelzebub,
by whom do your sons cast them out? 28But if I cast out demons
by the Spirit of God, surely the kingdom of God has come upon
you. 29Or how can one enter a strong man's house and plunder
his goods, unless he first binds the strong man? And then he will
plunder his house. 30He who is not with Me is against Me, and
he who does not gather with Me scatters abroad.
33"Either make the tree good and its fruit good, or make the
tree bad and its fruit bad; for a tree is known by its fruit. 34Brood
of vipers! How can you, being evil, speak good things? For out
of the abundance of the heart the mouth speaks. 35A good man
out of the treasure of his heart brings forth good things, and an
evil man brings forth evil things. 37By your words you will be
justified, and by your words you will be condemned."
38Some of the scribes and Pharisees answered, "Teacher, we want to see a sign from You." 39He answered, "An evil and adulterous generation seeks after a sign, and no sign will be given to it except the sign of the prophet Jonah. 40As Jonah was three days and nights in the belly of the great fish, so will the Son of Man be three days and three nights in the heart of the earth. 41Nineveh repented at the preaching of Jonah; and indeed a greater than Jonah is here. 42The queen of the South will rise up in the judgment with this generation and condemn it, for she came from the ends of the earth to hear the wisdom of Solomon; and indeed a greater than Solomon is here."
46While He was talking, His mother and brothers stood
outside, seeking Him. 47Then one said to Him, "Your mother
and brothers are seeking to speak with You." 8He answered,
"Who is My mother; who are My brothers?" 9He stretched out
His hand toward His disciples and said, 50"Whoever does the
will of My Father in heaven is My brother and sister and mother." This Bible passage was condensed from the NKJV
